I’m in my early 30s, a Mum, philosopher, deep thinker, lover of ideas, a writer, drinker of long blacks & good wine, stand-up comedy fan, mindfulness lover, seeker of chats & laughter and an admirer of nature- nothing beats walking in the forest!
I started the inner beam so as I could do some of my favourite things; think deep, write, connect and share stories about how to successfully be human (by successful I mean living life in a way that actually feels good & enjoyable).
I'm super passionate about supporting women to understand themselves and their innate power (yes, you ARE powerful). I am not an expert in how to be human, in fact it hasn't felt all that natural to me in many ways. This is how I've come to be an avid researcher on the topic and have devoted lots of time and energy to exploring how to live life as body, mind and soul.
For many years I've been guiding women to tap into their inner well of wisdom, to switch off stress and turn on healing. It's my honest opinion (backed by some quality research) that we can only truly thrive when we are attuned to our ‘inner self’.
A positive healthy relationship with our 'inner me' is the foundation of a happy, healthy and whole-hearted life. When we honour the wisdom that resides within, we feel safe and we're able to take action which aligns with our true desires. This is what I call 'walking your path'.
Throughout my years as a counsellor I've met many women who have been struggling with overwhelm, confusion, self doubt and unhappiness. These women have shared many things in common, one of which is the fear that they are not good enough and the other is the sense that they are alone in their experiences; this combination creates the most awful feelings.
During our time together I've encouraged women to come home to themselves, to ignore their minds chatter and listen to their inner guidance system- when they do so, I observe how their lives transform in miraculous ways.
I've got lots of personal experience with health issues and I know how darned hard it is to find a path of healing. It seriously bothers me that health and well-being is so incredibly overcomplicated. Many of us find ourselves on ridiculously expensive and time consuming rides, in an effort to find answers, to find balance- urghhhh.
What I really want you to know, is that you are powerful, you have the power to influence your own health. I suspect that you're much more powerful than you currently believe. It is for this very reason, that I write and share about all the awesome things I've discovered about our innate wisdom, the mind-body connection & the importance of living authentically- I want you to believe in your power to heal!
Modern science has proven that a huge and often untapped resource lies within each of us to influence our own physiology, health and happiness (to discover more about this check out my articles on Neuroplasticity).
This concept of tapping into our innate healing power is no longer new-age or alternative; in fact highly experienced medical doctors and scientists are leading the research and dissemination of this extraordinary branch of knowledge about the mind-body-spirit connection. Some of my favourite thought leaders, researchers and writers in the field of mind-body-spirit medicine are Dr Bruce Lipton, Dr Lissa Rankin, Brene Brown, Eckhart Tolle, Dr Dan Siegel and Dr Gabor Mate.
